چکیده
This project report covers the development of a computational 3D microscope, NoScope. Using tomographic and light field algorithms, we present a method to reconstruct 3D volumes of microscopic samples taken with a lensless sensor. Business and intellectual property strategies for commercializing NoScope are detailed in the first three sections. The remaining sections highlight the project’s technical accomplishments and methods. Capstone Report Project NoScope

Image processing in electron tomography
Electron tomography (ET) has emerged as the leading technique for three-dimensional (3D) structural analysis of unique complex biological specimens. ET makes it possible to directly visualize the molecular architectures of organelles, cells and complex viruses at close-to-molecular resolution. ET has been crucial to reveal some of the major breakthroughs in life sciences in the last few years. ...
متن کاملThree-dimensional imaging by deconvolution microscopy.
Deconvolution is a computational method used to reduce out-of-focus fluorescence in three-dimensional (3D) microscope images. It can be applied in principle to any type of microscope image but has most often been used to improve images from conventional fluorescence microscopes. Compared to other forms of 3D light microscopy, like confocal microscopy, the advantage of deconvolution microscopy i...

One of the major challenges impeding advancement in image-guided surgical (IGS) systems is the soft-tissue deformation during surgical procedures. These deformations reduce the utility of the patient's preoperative images and may produce inaccuracies in the application of preoperative surgical plans. Solutions to compensate for the tissue deformations include the acquisition of intraoperative t...
متن کاملPhantom-based comparison of the accuracy of point clouds extracted from stereo cameras and laser range scanner
Using computational models, images acquired pre-operatively can be updated to account for intraoperative brain shift in image-guided surgical (IGS) systems. An optically tracked textured laser range scanner (tLRS) furnishes the 3D coordinates of cortical surface points (3D point clouds) over the surgical field of view and provides a correspondence 15 between these and the pre-operative MR image...
